We want to highlight some of the great projects, events, and initiatives going on in Como that are led by Como neighbors!
Dawn Lamm, Arlington Avenue neighbor AND fellow Como Curb Cleanup Demonstration House, is the founder of the Como Seed Library. Dawn is one of the the co-organizers of the Como Fall Garden SkillShare and Harvest Exchange that takes place in October at the Historic Streetcar Station. 2017 date to be announced soon. Come out and say hi!!
Local non-profit, Friends of the Mississippi River, has long been active in Como, working with volunteer groups to stencil neighborhood storm drains that carry stormwater (and pollutants) to Como Lake and the Mississippi River (see photo left). In 2017, FMR teamed up with the City of St. Paul, public artist Gustavo Lira, and CACN to design a storm drain mural that will be painted around a drain in Como Park.
